Apple Chips

{ Apple Chips }

It amazes me how sweet and delicious these are without any added sugar or spice. This is a VERY easy recipe (can we even call it a recipe?), but I still thought it was worth sharing! Here’s a recipe for apple chips made in the dehydrator with no added sugar.

{ ingredients }

  • 2-3 large apples, thinly sliced

{ directions }

  1. Slice apples into 1/8 inch slices. I do this with the skins, without even coring the apples. I just picked out the few seeds once they are sliced.
  2. Arrange in dehydrator, trying to make sure the sliced to not touch (but no need to stress about it too much…they will taste the same).
  3. Set your dehydrator to 140 degrees, and leave for 10-12 hours. Check for doneness. I like mine extra crunchy, but some people like them a bit more flexible. Taste and leave in longer if you want them crunchier.
  4. Store in airtight container.
  5. Enjoy! Yum!

Makes about 4 servings, I will warn that sometimes it is just 2 in my house because they are addicting!

OPTIONS:

  • You could top with a dash of cinnamon and/or nutmeg for a holiday snack, or a bit of ginger for a more interesting snack.
  • You can also bake these in the oven (set for 200 degrees and leave for 2-3 hours, flipping occasionally.
