Cranberry Relish

{ Cranberry Relish }

One of my favorite items on the Thanksgiving menu is my mom’s cranberry relish. This is far from canned cranberries! This recipe adds cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and orange zest to create the perfect cranberry relish recipe! The aroma this dish creates is magically and is a create introduction into the holiday season! I hope you add it to you Thanksgiving traditions today!

{ ingredients }

  • 12 oz. fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup Light Raisins
  • 3/4 cup Orange juice
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. Nutmeg
  • Dash of Ground Cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. Orange Zest

 { directions }

  1. Combine orange juice, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves in a sauce pan. Stir together on medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Stir in cranberries and raisins and bring to a boil. Reduce heat ans stir for 4-5 minutes until cranberries have popped.
  3. Remove from heat and transfer to serving bowl. Cover and chill until time to serve (this can be made a day or two ahead of time).
  4. Enjoy! Yum!

Makes about 6 servings. I usually double this for family holiday meals.
