{ Summer Sun Tea }

The temperature is only getting hotter this summer. It’s about time for us all to be enjoying a refreshing glass of iced sun tea! This is so easy that it may not even be worth sharing, BUT I make sun tea all the time and people always ask me about it so I thought I’d share my thoughts on sun tea!

{ ingredients }

  • 2 quarts of filtered water
  • 6 tea bags
  • Garnish or add-ins as you prefer (mint, basil, lemon verbena, lemon, lime, sweetener, etc.)

{ directions }

  1. Open six tea bags.
  2. Using a pitcher or jar that has a lid, fill with filtered water and the tea bags. (Add any add-ins you would like)
  3. Find a warm sunny place in your yard and let the tea steep for 2-5 hours. ( I’d recommend no shorter than 2 hours or longer than 5 hours, but you’ll know your sun tea is ready for you by color and taste)
  4. You may want to strain out any add-ins like herbs or lemon wedges.
  5. Serve over ice and store in the fridge.
  6. Cheers! Enjoy!

My favorite flavors are Yogi Sweet Tangerine (with fresh basil and agave), Yogi Honey Lavendar (with agave), Tazo Passion, Tazo Wild Sweet Orange (with fresh mint or basil), Bigelow Green Tea with Peach and Yogi Refreshing Mint (with fresh mint). Experiment and find your own favorites and share with me! I’d love to hear!

Cheers to summer cookouts and long holiday weekends!
